Lake Allegan is a large all-sports lake located just outside of Allegan, Michigan. The lake has a large surface area of 1,600 acres and produces a variety of fish including perch, bluegill, bass, catfish, and walleye.
Lake Allegan is a great spot for boating, swimming, hiking, skiing, and fishing . The lake is surrounded by high, wooded bluffs and sand dunes. Eagle Island located in the middle of Lake Allegan has hiking trails worth exploring. Lake Allegan is lined by high end residential homes. There are two public boat launches allowing lots of family fun. Lake Allegan is near the Allegan State Forrest with 50,000 acres attracting campers, snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, horse trail riders and hunters. Lake Allegan is also centrally located Grand Rapids (30 minutes), Kalamazoo, Holland (25 minutes), South Haven, Lake Michigan beaches (15 Minutes), and Chicago (150 miles).
